What is the Legal Gambling Age in Korea?

So you’ve arrived in Korea in order to gamble. Or maybe you’re already living here and just curious. So where to start?

First of all, the legal adult age in Korea is 19 years old.

This is the age for buying alcohol, cigarettes, and all types of gambling in Korea.

However, there’s a few other interesting legal ages in Korea:

1) Age of criminal responsibility: 14

2) Age of civil/tort responsibility: 14-15

3) Age of (sexual) consent: 13 (yikes!)

4) Legal drinking age: 20*

5) Driving age: 18

6) Army enlistment age: 18

7) Voting age: 19

Remember, this is “international age” (what you’re used to), whereas Koreans have a unique age system of their own.
